This Privacy Policy refers to “Services” as all of ObscuredVPN’s websites, mobile and other apps, goods, services, software, and related documentation, including VPN Services. When we say “VPN Services,” we mean anything that can be done over a Virtual Private Network (VPN) using ObscuredVPN.

While you are using our VPN Services, none of your online activities, including your browsing history, connection timings, metadata, downloads, server use, or data content, will be tracked, stored, or logged by ObscuredVPN.Section 2 (D) of this Privacy Notice for a breakdown of the specific types of personal information that obscuredVPN gathers.

You can be certain that obscuredVPN will never keep any record of your IP address or use it in any manner once your VPN connection has ended. Specifically, Section 2(D) and Section 7 of this Privacy Statement. 2. WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND HOW WE COLLECT IT

WARNING: OUR SERVICES MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY OR AT ALL IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE REQUIRED PERSONAL INFORMATION. YOUR REFUSAL TO SUPPLY REQUIRED PERSONAL INFORMATION MIGHT ALSO PREVENT US FROM MEETING OUR CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS TO PROVIDE YOU WITH ANY OR ALL OF OUR SERVICES.

We detail the types of personal data that may be collected when you use the Services and the methods that may be used to gather this information in Section 2 (A-C) of this Privacy Policy.

The “no logging” policy that applies to your use of our VPN Services is described in detail in Section 2(D) of this Privacy Policy.

a. PERSONAL DATA THAT YOU PROVIDE

As part of the registration process and your continued use of the Services, we may collect the following information about you:

  • First and last name (through the registration box or social media login);
  • Company name;
  • Email address;
  • Login ID and password (in an “encrypted” format);
  • User uploaded document content and preview (Certain products only);
  • Private and Public Keys (in an “encrypted” format) (Certain products only);
  • Other profile information that you choose to provide to us; and
  • Any other information that you choose to provide to us by forum postings, online chats, sending us an email, completing a web form, or any other similar means.

b. PERSONAL DATA THAT WE COLLECT AUTOMATICALLY

As a result of your use of the Services, we will acquire some personal data from you, which may include the following:

  • Country;
  • IP address;
  • Operating system and browser type;
  • Device language, manufacturer, code, and name;
  • Wi-Fi network name, Time zone, connection type;
  • Total internet traffic for each session and session dates (Certain products only);
  • Number of your devices using the Services;
  • Other data collected in accordance with our Cookies Policy; and
  • obscuredVPN website/app usage, including version used, activation date, and updates installed.

c. PERSONAL DATA THAT WE COLLECT FROM OTHER SOURCES

Names and email addresses may be obtained from other sources, including marketing and research firms, sales lead generators, social media platforms, and public databases. We also obtain information from third-party payment processors including Funnel, Voluum, Appsflyer, Symplify, Paymentwall, Stripe, Amazon, PayPal, Apple, and Google on your payment history in relation to our Services (but not your payment information).

d. OBSCUREDVPN’S VPN SERVICES – NO LOGGING POLICY

As detailed in this Section 2(D), your online actions (including the websites you visit) while using any of our VPN Services are NOT monitored, stored, or logged by ObscuredVPN, except for aggregate session traffic statistics and session dates (this data is collected only if you use personal servers or personal IP address).For each account, ObscuredVPN keeps track of how many devices are connected and uses this information to strictly enforce device limitations. This information may be reviewed in the Account Settings, where it is also possible to delete devices from your account.

While you are actively using our VPN Services, we will temporarily retain certain personally identifiable information (such as your operating system, browser type, connection type, and IP address). After your VPN connection ends, we do not save any of your personal information, including the kinds of information listed above, in any form. This also ensures that your identity (IP address, username, first and last name, and email) is never tied to the content you access online when using the VPN Services.

3. HOW WE USE PERSONAL DATA

Information about you may be collected and used in the ways described below. With your permission, we will do things like:

  • Offering you various forms of advertising and promotion pertaining to the Services and contacting you about them;
  • Accessing information from your device about how you use the Services, with the exception of situations were we us personal data based on other legal basis;
  • Researching, customizing, and enhancing our marketing strategies and Services for the benefit of our customers.

For the purpose of carrying out an agreement, or in preparation for the formation of an agreement, including:

  • To fulfill your purchase and deliver the Services you’ve paid for or are testing out for free with a trial; Implement or perform our duties stemming from any directives;
  • Processing, recording, and monitoring your financial transactions and non-payments arising from your use of the Services; and
  • Communicating with you and offering you support and troubleshooting services pertaining to the Services.

To ensure that we are in compliance with our legal duties, which include the following:

  • Obey or utilize our rights and responsibilities resulting from certain orders; and
  • During the course of any required or reasonable litigation or regulatory inquiries.

To protect or defend our rights or property, or the rights, property, or safety of other users or third parties:

  • Identifying problems with our services;
  • To complete your purchase and deliver the Services you’ve paid for or are testing out via a free trial;
  • Except where doing so would need our express permission, analyzing, customizing, and enhancing our Services and marketing methods;
  • Identifying and stopping fraudulent, unlawful, or otherwise infringing activities against ObscuredVPN, our users, or third parties; and
  • Implement or execute our rights and duties emanating from any directives in the process of regulatory investigations or litigation, when necessary or appropriate

4. WHEN AND WHY WE SHARE PERSONAL DATA

a. VPN Services personal data

Users’ private information is never shared, transferred, sold, rented, or disclosed by ObscuredVPN in any way, for any reason. In addition, when your VPN session ends, ObscuredVPN does not retain or track certain types of personal data (i.e. Operating system, browser type, connection type, and IP address), therefore it cannot share such personal data with any third parties, as specified in Section 2(D) of this Privacy Policy.

To reiterate what was stated in Section 2(D) of this Privacy Policy, when using any of our VPN Services, obscuredVPN does NOT track, record, or log your online activity (such as the websites you visit), with the exception of total data transfer and the dates and times of your sessions (this data is collected only if you use personal servers or personal IP address). This means that your online actions cannot be shared, transferred, sold, rented, or disclosed in any way by ObscuredVPN.

b. Services personal data:

To protect your privacy, ObscuredVPN will never share any information about you with a third party without your explicit permission. If we want to share your personal information with anybody outside of our company, we will first ask for and then get your permission. We do, however, need to disclose your personal data to conduct our ordinary business. We share your personal data with our affiliates and third-party service providers for regular business operations, including:

  • Promoting the Services and their use;
  • Storing, transmitting, and management of your individual information;
  • Managing and processing your purchases of Services; and
  • Identify and stop any fraudulent, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate behavior that could violate the legal rights of obscuredVPN, our users, or third parties;

RIGHT TO OBJECT

6. WHERE AND HOW WE STORE AND TRANSFER PERSONAL DATA

For as long as you use our Services, we will retain some of your personally identifiable information that we obtain from you and other sources. We preserve personal information required for compliance with our legal requirements and execution of our contractual commitments for the longer of: (i) the time period permitted by relevant law; or (ii) seven years.

8. The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”)

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) is a federal law in the United States that gives parents more authority over the collection and use of personal information about their children online. Any website or service that intentionally collects information from children under the age of 13 is in violation of the law.

No part of our business model includes targeting children under 13 with advertising or solicitation of any kind, and we do not knowingly collect information from or market to those in this age group. Those of you who are under the age of 13 are asked to refrain from providing any personal information to ObscuredVPN.

When we make changes to this Privacy Policy (and/or other Addenda and applicable policies), we will post the revised policy on our website, in our apps, and in our other Services to ensure that you are aware of the modifications.
